Infographics

In an ever increasing visual world, Infographics are being used more and more to provide useful information the brain can easily digest. People want sound bites, not blocks of text, and people have screens in their pockets, not books, therefore animated Infographics are booming.

Although many would think Infographics are a new trend, they are in fact one of the oldest forms of communicating information. For thousands of years humans have attempted to explain the world around them through graphics. Think cave paintings, and hieroglyphs in the ancient world, through to graphs and bar charts of the 20th century. We seem to retain information better when it is in a visual form, as we are naturally visual creatures.

Over the last few months we have been approached by drinks company Alexander and James and also Vietnamese restaurant group Pho to produce fun and informative Infographics for their respective websites.

PHO: HOW TO EASE A HANGOVER_

Pho needed an Infographic to explain all the good stuff in a bowl of their tasty noodle soup. The concept was to convey the message using the term ‘How to Ease a Hangover’. We mixed icons we designed with some of their existing fonts and styling to create an Infographic for their website and social media.

ALEXANDER & JAMES: NIFTY SHADES OF RED_

Alexander & James approached Kota to design them a fun Infographic on how to choose your favourite alcoholic red drink. The chart was quite content heavy so a lot of planning went into designing the layout so all the content would fit. A&J had strict branding guidelines which again we mixed with icons and also speech bubbles to create a clean but busy design.

ALEXANDER & JAMES: HONEY COCKTAILS_

Following on from the ‘Nifty Shades of Red’ Infographic, Alexander & James wanted to highlight and visualise the plight of the bees in the UK, whilst also promoting honey infused cocktails. Working to their brand guidelines again, we came up with a simple hexagonal style to emulate the bee hive mixed with rich warm honey colours.

CHECK THIS OUT_

Check out how effective animated Infographics can be by watching the link below. A super informative graphic on the Syrian refugee crisis and the migration of its people. Well worth a watch as it’s fascinating stuff. View Here
